Kshitija Kale, MBBS

Graduate Student, Experimental Pathology Graduate Program
Biography

Born and brought up in Mumbai, I did my medical school training followed by residency training in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology from India. I have worked as a Senior Resident in histopathology at the Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai. With an academic background in pathology, experience in oncopathology and a sheer interest in research, I applied for the Experimental Pathology program at Karandikar Lab. My work would focus on elucidating roles of regulatory T-cells (CD4 and CD8 cells) in the pathogenesis of autoimmune diseases. Further down the line, our project aims to focus on pathogenesis of Multiple Sclerosis with mouse models and human cells. And as Erich Segal quoted, “For medicine is an eternal quest for reasons - causes that explain effects”, I positively hope for fruitful results in our projects.
