Mohit Upadhye, MD
The Karandikar lab studies the complex immunology behind Multiple Sclerosis, a debilitating autoimmune disease of the CNS that lacks a definitive cure at present. The lab’s work is fundamental to the understanding of its pathophysiology and has great implications in the development of novel therapies for MS. Fascinated by their research, I decided to join the team after graduating as a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from India (US MD-equivalent). I am currently studying the interactions between the autoregulatory CD8 T cells and the CD4 T helper cells in the adoptive model of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis. I hope to cherish this incredible opportunity to gain valuable experience and obtain insights for my research career in the future.
